My fundamental objective is to provide you a therapeutic forum
where heartfelt deliberations, soul searching, and "thanks
I needed that" kind of accountability can unfold. In my attempts
to provide you with the most therapeutic environment, allow me
to address several important psychotherapy guidelines. Please discuss
any of the following in your first sessions.
Upon mutual agreement, time will be reserved for your therapy session. If
you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment time, you are required to provide
my office with 24 hours advance notice. Failure to provide 24 hours advance
notice will result in you being charged for the full session. To schedule
an appointment, you may contact me by telephone, or email.

As a result of my twelve plus years of experience with daily live radio-therapy,
I have enlarged my practice to include telephone counseling/therapy. Clients
who live or work in areas not conveniently served by my office or who travel
on business, or for reasons of illness, or inclement weather may now choose the
convenient option of scheduling a telephone appointment. These appointments are
50 minutes in length and the same fee applies. There are no additional telephone
charges for these appointments.
There are no ten commandments for therapeutic success. However,
in an attempt to simplify an otherwise complicated process, I have
reduced my observations from over 31 years of private practice
down to 5 prominent principles that have brought success to my
Five Personal Growth Principles Likely to Promote Rapid Progress
- Have a clear objective. The more specific your objective the
easier it is to monitor your progress.
- Maintain a realistic expectation of the progress you desire. Eschew
magic or grandiose thinking and you will insure personal growth and
therapeutic success you can value.
- Be honest. Before you can succeed in personal growth you must
first concede. Remember, you are often an accomplice to the wrong
doing against you.
- Don’t wait for inspiration or motivation to start doing what
you know you must. Inspiration and the motivation to continue
is a reward or by product gained from doing what is right. Stop
looking for motivation to stimulate or motivate you into action. Progress
- Recognize the companion of your increased awareness is discomfort. The
way out is the way through not around. It’s called growing
pains for this reason. Discomfort is a signal that you are doing
something that is unfamiliar not wrong. Learn to recognize growing
pains for what they are.
Personal growth is a potentially powerful and delicate exercise worthy
of your best efforts.
Legal and ethical responsibilities require your therapist to maintain
the confidentiality of these private sessions. Therefore,
no information will be released to another professional, agency,
or individual, including members of your family without your signed & written
consent. The only exception is in the case where you actually
or potentially endanger yourself, another, and/or in the case of
suspected child and elder abuse. In these cases the law requires
your therapist share certain information with specific outside
Sessions are 50 minutes in length.
Individual/Marital/Family sessions of 50 minutes are $170. Payment
is required at the end of each appointment. Cash, check
or credit cards are accepted as payment. Psychological
testing, if necessary, is an additional charge. Longer
sessions are charged accordingly.
Depending on your coverage, Medical Insurance will frequently
cover at least part of the cost of certain psychotherapeutic
modalities and psychological testing. If you wish to file
an insurance claim with your health insurance provider, my office
will provide you with a “super bill” that includes
all the necessary information to assist you in filing your claim. Remember,
in most cases, insurance companies will insist that you have
a diagnosable condition in order to receive reimbursement.
I am available by telephone on request by contacting my office. I
do not provide therapy through email correspondence. Should
an urgent situation arise that cannot wait until your next scheduled
appointment, leave a message with my service or contact me through
email indicating the nature of the urgency. All emergency
calls will be returned as quickly as possible. All other
calls will be returned by the close of business day. If
you need immediate assistance, as in the case of all critical
emergencies, dial 911.
